Mitch Evans, PLS – Project Manager/Principal

Washington State Professional Land Surveyors Reg No. 38011
Oregon State University

As Survey Project Manager, Mitch Evans brings a unique set of talents to bear on project success and multi-disciplinary coordination of project outcomes. From field to office, coordination of documentation and project planning, each project, site and phase of a design build project has demanding needs for timeliness, thoroughness and budget conscious decisions made along the way. Experience counts in guaranteeing concise and timely answers to questions, needs and site specific constraints discovered while balancing multi-phased approaches to condensed timelines. In short, less experience can be so much less. Founding and Managing Partner of Axis Survey, Mitch has personal control of the staff and resources required to guarantee each phase of the project.

Evans brings 32 years of personal experience as a third-generation Land Surveyor to each and every project he’s involved with. Recent (2011) completion of over 7 miles of Corporate Campus renovation mapping for the Overlake area, Redmond, WA headquarters of a software giant, followed by 2012 mapping and boundary of a 5-1/2 mile long rail corridor through the urban areas of Kirkland, WA illustrate Axis’ abilities to deal with current large scale mapping and construction projects. Mitch’s specific expertise is leading the efforts in 2 main directions: We make accurate and specific maps of the land and existing infrastructures for design teams to consider in their workplace environments, and we take those same designs back to the site and test and prove their efficacy during the construction process. Each piece is proven, checked and verified to either the existing surface or the site specific constraints. Modern and ultra-productive technologies are employed from fully robotic total stations to 3D laser scanners, detailed topographic maps to fully implemented 3D BIM models play a part in each project. The right tools, the right technologies and the right team of survey professionals bring Axis Survey to the forefront of project implementation. Mitch Evans and the Team at Axis have decades of experience at Paine Field, on large scale airport and commercial projects and keep the client and other disciplines informed and prepared.
